I want to honor the many courageous people out there fighting for the mental health of their children, relatives, friends, and themselves. Participating in the #ocdwalk yesterday in Oakland, CA, I had the chance to meet many of these warriors face to face. People struggling to make sense of this strange disorder, that seems to take over the mind and make you captive to its incessant questioning and demands while upending your life.
As one who has experienced the OCD brainworm fully, my heart goes out to those watching loved ones suffer and wanting to do anything to help them. I also take solace in the fact that there are many paths to healing and so many amazing resources and therapies that are helping people through recovery.
I want to do whatever I can to be one such helper, and am happy to share what has helped on my own journey, and serve as a resource for any who need it. Feel free to reach out to me.
